On Feb. 14, Leia Castaneda Anastacio LL.M. ’96, S.J.D. ’09, Research Fellow, Harvard Law School’s East Asian Legal Studies Program, delivered a talk on her recent book, “The Foundations of the Modern Philippine State: Imperial Rule and the American Constitutional Tradition in the Philippine Islands” (Cambridge Univ. Press, Aug. 2016). Commentators included: Professor Gerald Neuman, J. Sinclair Armstrong Professor of International, Foreign, and Comparative Law, and co-director of the Human Rights Program at HLS; and Chris Capozzola, associate professor of History at MIT.
